One of Nigeria’s most famous humour merchants, Bright Okpocha, popularly called Basketmouth, has announced the death of his mum.
According to a statement posted on Instagram on Tuesday morning by the comedian himself, the woman died on Monday.
He described his mum as his “first love” whose death made him feel “the deepest pain ever”
“Last night my angel left me, my first love stopped breathing and it’s the deepest pain I’ve ever felt. I love you for every sacrifice you made to make me the man I am today, I’ve loved you through the tough times. I’ve loved you through happier days and all I can say at this point is that I will love you forever. I will miss you mummy.”
The 38-year-old’s annual show, “The Lord of the Ribs”, is set to kick-off in Portharcourt next month.
