Amidst the comments her recent public spat with President Muhammadu Buhari are generating, First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari has arrived Brussels, Belgium for a conference.
She is expected to deliver a speech on women’s role in global security at the opening of the conference.
Confirming this via her twitter handle on Tuesday, she wrote: “Heading to Brussels to attend a forum where I will be giving the opening remark on “Women’s Role in Global Security. ”
She has recently caused a storm by criticising her husband in a BBC interview where she accused him of appointing total strangers in his cabinet and abandoning people who worked hard for his election.
She also threatened to withdraw her support for the President in 2019 if the things don’t change.
President Buhari has responded by saying she belonged to the kitchen “and the other room” and had no business in politics and governance.
His response is also causing a bigger storm with feminists accusing him of relegating women to only kitchen and bedroom duties.
