Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Saturday defeated the Tanzanian national team by a lone goal in the ongoing qualifiers for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
Manchester City star, Kelechi Iheanacho, saved the Nigerian side from an embarrassing barren draw by hitting the target in the 78th minute.
The game, played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Akwa Ibom state, saw a huge crowd cheering the Super Eagles.
Tanzania keeper, Manula, provided a strong resistance to the Eagles’ pressure before Iheanacho put one past him 12 minutes from time.
Saturday’s win was the only one recorded by the Eagles in the group. They now have five points from four games.
The Pharaohs of Egypt topped the group with 10 points from four games.
