President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday resumed work in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The president didn’t receive any visitor or government functionary for the usual briefing as has been the practice.

Although the exact time he resumed work could not be ascertained, he was still at work around 14.30 GMT when this report was written.

Meanwhile, in line with the advice of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and subsequent approval of the president, the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting did not hold.

No cabinet member or visitor was seen at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

The Taskforce had on Monday announced the suspension of FEC and National Council of State meetings until further notice.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation/Chairman PTF-COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, Monday announced additional measures by government to curb the spread of the pandemic.

On Tuesday March 24, the Presidency scaled down the number of personnel working in the Presidential Villa including journalists.

The Presidency said the decision was in line with the current restriction in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) against gathering of not more than 50 persons at a time and at any venue as well as to maintain social distancing following the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
