Ahead of the upcoming national convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled for October, some supporters of Presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, have called on the stakeholders, delegates and leaders of the PDP not to make the mistake of electing another aspirant other than the former vice president.

The supporters under the aegis of Rebuild Nigeria International Forum (RNI) issued a press statement after its national executive committee meeting at weekend, saying if the PDP must return to power next year, all the stakeholders must rally round Atiku and present him as the party’s candidate.

Aside that, the group argued that Atiku was the presidential aspirant Nigerians are waiting to vote for in February, 2019 because he alone has the capacity, experience, expertise, open mind and large heart to solve the big problems bedeviling the nation which include unemployment, insecurity, poverty and ethno-religious divisions.

“It is only Atiku that has the temperament, clout, experience, skill, knowledge, charisma, the national followership to not only defeat President Muhammadu Buhari but also give Nigerians the leadership of their dream.

We urge all Nigerians to take a critical look at the pitiable situation of the country, with a view to choosing the next President that will protect the country’s democracy, turn around the fortunes of the country for the better, diversify the economy and unite the nation,” the statement read in part.

The group also argued that the restructuring of the Nigerian federation is a task that must be done and which Atiku is committed to.
