The Presidency has barred State House correspondents from covering the historic visit of United State Secretary of States, John Kerry to the Presidential Villa.
The former US Senator from Massachusetts is scheduled to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday as part of his visit to Nigeria and Kenya.
Thinkers gathered reliably that according to the programme, journalists were also barred from interviewing Kerry.
In fact, throughout the period of Kerry’s stay in the State House, reporters will be locked up at the briefing room of the council chambers to avoid having access to the “August visitor”.
Media interviews are often part of the tradition each time a foreign Head of State or dignitary is visiting the State House, Abuja.
Those that have been given approval to establish his arrival at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa by about 2:55pm, are the selected few with still and video camera.
The few cameramen are to establish the bilateral meeting at the Grey room of the President’s office.
Buhari and Kerry would meet behind closed doors and both leaders will hold bilateral talks on building stronger ties between the two countries.
According to the programme, the US Secretary of State will also meet with five governors from the northern part of the country.
Thinkers observed that security has been beefed up in and around the Presidential Villa.
